Dusk on Oakwoods Road
I have been told that Stephen King lived here in North Berwick a few years back . He did mention the old mill in "Needfull Things". This abandoned farmhouse and barns is out on Oakwoods Road. He could have written about this place for sure. It got very quiet as dusk approached and the abandoned old cars in the overgrown weeds in the woods and the way the last rays of sun caught the window panes making it look like a bank of shoplights in the upstairs room. I even made the sound of a chainsaw to my friend as we painted. Ol' Leatherface could have come out the side door at any time.... 10 x 12" in oil on canvas panel.

Lobster Boat off Lane's Cove
This is an acrylic worked up from a gray day at Lane's Cove. It was done in the studio today. The painting is 4 5/16 x 7 7/8 . When I was painting at Lane's Cove, I forgot to consider the flood tide by the wall. I got trapped for awhile and the water came up over my shoes . I had to set up on the rocks to stay dry. My pals got a kick out of that of course... This view was out past the wall. I liked the mood to the sky and the tones of the boat.

Storm Skies, White Mountains
This one is 9 x 12" in oils on canvas panel. Started in plein air on my trip to the mountains and worked up a bit more in the studio today. I like the mood of it, feels like impending storm which it was . It started to pour right after we finished the last brush stroke. It rained so hard all the way home.

Skyline Vision, Gloucester, MA
I painted on location in oils, a large canvas 24 x 30, on a rocky ledge above the street level of these schooners at the railways at Rocky Neck in Gloucester, my old hometown.
Today I decided to work up a study in acrylic to help with some of the design problems in the larger painting. It was a great help and this design feels much better. I will work on the large one and incorporate some of these ideas.
Click here to bid, but this one will be at a fixed price, not in the auction format. An email offer would also be considered .
